REAF collaborate with Greenpeace on Wrongmove Campaign

There was a good turn out to REAF’s informal drop-in event on Sunday 13th at St Stepehens Club on Hoole Lane. The event saw steady interest from local residents who wanted to find out more about Fracking and Commercial Shale Gas Development in the area. Visitors where treated to home made cake and tea or coffee and lively discussion and debate on a range of fracking related issues. There was also a plethora of information leaflets and flyers on hand to take away as well as petitions to sign.wm2.jpg

But this wasn’t the only success of the day when a last minute collaboration paid off with members of Greenpeace visiting the village for a launch of their Wrongmove Campaign - both REAF and Greenpeace members then engaged with local residents on their doorsteps and those most staunchly opposed agreed to host estate agents style signs outside their properties creating a highly visible symbol of opposition around the village!

You can get involved by visiting this site filling in your postcode and signing the petition. You can read more about the Greenpeace Campaign by visiting their blog here More pictures are available on our Facebook Gallery.
